Survey 2013/14

Written by Anthony Richards on 29 March 2013. Posted in Announcements

Dear Sailor,

What a huge year it's been! We've had some successes and also some failings, but above all we've learnt heaps. But as you know, the season is drawing to a close, so we thought it best to strike while the irons hot and get your feedback to prepare for season 2013/14.
Over the year, I have had an overwhelming response from ALL divisions about the use of Trapezoid (TZD) courses. People have loved the notion of splitting the fleet, there's windward leewards for Div 1 and reaches for other classes. But above all, so many people commented on how much fun they are to sail! I have also had more and more people comment about thoroughly enjoying the short course racing, surprisingly a large proportion from those who voted for long course racing in last year's survey!

So as a result, the Sailing Committee would like to propose that in 2013/14 we run either:

Option 1 - Trapezoid short courses for the 'majority' of the season (there will be some Long [single] course racing in the Twilight series).

Or

Option 2 - which requires you to indicate your preferred preferences and we will create a program to suit.
However, there has also been some discussion about the survey itself and how much weighting each individual sailor should have given the amount they sail. The Sailing Committee agrees and has hence put forward the following weighting system based on how many times you sailed. 0-5 times sailed = 1 vote, 6-10 = 2 votes, 11-15 = 3 votes, 16-20 = 4 votes, 21+ = 5 votes.

Please complete this Survey by Sunday 28th April 2013 (our Presentation Day!)
