- Experience: completed Tackers 1 & 2, Start Sailing 1 & 2, or have similar experience.

Better Sailing 1 & 2
- Rigging of the boat to suit conditions
- Capsize recovery of an inverted boat
- Using a spinnaker
- Advanced sailing theory
- Racing:
- Mark all sail controls to enable accurate setting
- Demonstrate an understanding of starting procedures
- Identify line bias and favoured end
- Perform starts in accordance with start signals
- Understand boat trim, balance & centreboard position on all legs of the racing course
- Adjust sail shape in response to changing conditions
- Observe rules covering starting, mark rounding, overlaps, penalties, on same tack, on opposite tacks and obstructions while racing
